She recommended Dr Rakus - she was right. I know I'm in safe hands and my treatments have been effective without side effects and have drawn many compliments".

"I am very pleased my daughter-in-law found Dr. Rakus's clinic. Without doubt this is the most excellent service in all aspects I have ever encountered anywhere in London or Europe. I shall definitely return."

"Lips need to suit your face and for a good treatment I may need to treat the area around the mouth" advises Dr Rakus
Lips collapse with age, strengthening the top lip with subtle enhancement using Restylane can improve the overall appearance of the lower part of the face.
There are two types of results to be achieved: lip enhancement and lip rejuvenation (lipstick bleed lines and drooping corners). In both cases you may need to have more than one type of treatment to get the result you are looking for.
Restylane is made of the crystal-clear NASHA gel that is injected to give a natural volume under the wrinkle. Restylane will lift up the wrinkle and smooth it out.
Lips are subject to swelling and more prone to bruising. If it is your first treatment, Dr Rakus would advise that you find a quiet time in your diary as the swelling after the Restylane treatment can last for 2-3 days.
Please refer below and on the menu to the right for Restylane pre-treatment and Restylane post-treatment advice.
The initial Restylane lip or wrinkle treatment is usually maintained with occasional follow-up treatments.
RESTYLANE is also intended for shaping the contours of the face, e.g. the cheeks.
When shaping the contours of the face the crystal-clear NASHA Restylane gel is injected into the skin in tiny amounts. A Restylane treatment takes a few minutes and the results can be seen immediately.
A touch-up Restylane treatment within 2-4 weeks after the initial treatment may be necessary to achieve an optimal correction.

RESTYLANE is long lasting but not permanent. You always have a choice to continue or change the combination of Restylan treatments with Perlane, Restylanetouch of RestylaneLipp treatments - and the Restylane procedure can be repeated as often as you like.
Most patients choose to have a follow-up Restylane treatment 6 to 12 months after an initial treatment of wrinkles. When the lips have been treated a follow-up treatment is normally needed after about 6 months.
A touch-up treatment within 2-4 weeks after the initial Restylane treatment may be necessary to achieve an optimal correction.
Clinical experience indicates that follow-up Restylane treatment normally require a smaller amount of the product.
Below are some commonly asked questions before the Restylane treatment.
Immediately after the Restylane treatment there may be slight redness, swelling, tenderness and an itching sensation in the treated area. This is a normal result of the injection of Restylane. If the inconvenience continues or if other reactions occur, please contact your physician.
The Restylane treated area should be massaged gently for 30 seconds morning and night for 2 to 3 days.
The initial swelling after the Restylane treatment may last longer. Some patients experience swelling for about a week. This means that the result directly after the Restylane treatment should not be seen as the final result.
Avoid touching the Restylane treated area 6 hours after the treatment. After that the area can be gently washed with soap and water and light make-up can be applied.
Until the initial swelling and redness have resolved, do not expose the Restylane treated area to intense heat (e.g. solarium and sunbathing) or extreme cold.
If you have previously suffered from facial cold sores, there is a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to another eruption of cold sores.
If you are using aspirin or any similar medication, be aware that these may increase the bruising and bleeding at the injection site.
RESTYLANE contains the body's own natural material, hyaluronic acid.
